Lima | Big City Life

To go from a city with a population of 400,000 to living somewhere with almost 10 Million has been quite the adjustment, but this city has more to offer than just population density. The scenery here shows the massive divide of classes Lima has. From our area in Barranco, you can see a different class of people in every direction. To the north, you have downtown Lima which has slums amongst itself which is typical of downtown areas throughout the world either way. However,  If you look in any direction of the mountains surrounding the city, you’ll see some of the poorest housing conditions in Lima, essentially shacks built on the side of the mountains with little cover from the elements. They add a delicate beauty to the diverse landscape this city has; from the Costa Verda all the way to the million dollar mansions of La Molina.

I don’t photograph much of Lima unfortunately, but this is a collection of what I do have so far.
